Support Worker

Location: Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne

Our client has the exciting of opportunity for a Support worker to join their team. This role is located at small residential service for young people with complex learning disabilities in Jesmond, close to transport links and the city centre.

The Role

Our client’s residents are aged 17-30 and enjoy an active life including attending their specialist College and Day services during the week. The residents here enjoy socialising together, with friends and family and with the staff teams. Activities are varied and include visits to the pub, restaurants, cafes, cinemas, music events, swimming, gaming, reading, relaxing and having a good laugh together to name a few. Our client is looking for the right person to join their friendly team; if that’s you, you will be energetic, enthusiastic, and full of great ideas,  with a great passion to ensure that their young people enjoy the best life possible!

As a member of the team it’s vital you have a great sense of humour and the resilience to understand that this role requires dedication, flexibility and the ‘drive’ to achieve the best outcomes for their residents. Our clients residents love trying new things and you’ll love coming up with activities and planning days out to make sure no two days are the same.

Some of our clients amazing young people can have behaviours that can be challenging at times, and other young people have limited communication skills. Our client will provide full support and training to enable you to work in their team, so experience is not essential. But if you have experience of this level of support need already or other transferable skills, we would really like to talk to you!

If this all sounds fantastic so far, please be aware that this role requires working around the young people’s daily attendance at College/ Day Service so will require early morning and evening shifts as well as weekends.
